Canandaigua man charged with unlawful imprisonment, harassment | Crime

A 32-year-old Canandaigua man is under arrest following a domestic disturbance at a mobile home park on Saltonstall Street on January 5.

Canandaigua Police say James Aikey took the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling 911 for police assistance in addition to sitting on top of her while holding her hands down. Investigators say Aikey grabbed the victim and shook her. According to police, the victim was able to leave the residence and call 911 from a neighbor's.

Aikey was charged with unlawful imprisonment, criminal mischief and harassment.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ontario County Jail without bail.
