Canandaigua teen charged with stealing from Wegmans

A 16-year-old Canandaigua teen has been charged with petit larceny and criminal mischief.

Police say Jonathan Connell was observed by Wegmans security removing items from their packaging and placing them in his pocket without paying.

Connell was released on an appearance ticket.
 

Newark man charged with marijuana possession in Canandaigua

A 19-year-old Newark man has been arrested in Canandaigua after a traffic stop.

Canandaigua Police stopped a vehicle driven by Alexander Nassimos on South Main Street around 11:30 p.m. on January 7. Police say during the traffic stop, a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle.

Police say Nassimos was in possession of numerous smoking pipes containing marijuana residue along with a small quantity of marijuana on the floor of his vehicle.

Nassimos was issued a ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Geneva woman charged with promoting prison contraband

Police in Ontario County say they've arrested a woman for smuggling narcotic prescription drugs into the county jail.

Crystal Laflamme of Geneva, 33, is charged with promoting prison contraband.

Jail Deputies say she was planning to give Suboxone pills to an inmate. Suboxone is a less powerful narcotic used to treat opium addiction.

Laflamme was issued an appearance ticket.

Police: Victor man drained mother's bank account after she was admitted to nursing home

A 64-year-old Victor man is facing charges after State Police say he drained his mother’s bank account after she was admitted to a nursing home.

James Munger is charged with third-degree grand larceny – a felony.

Police say Munger emptied his mother’s account of $19,419.19 in a four month period between June and October 2009. Investigators say during that time, Munger made an $8769.19 withdrawal of the entire savings and wrote 67 checks to “Cash” – cashing almost half of those checks at a local bar.

Police say although Munger had power of attorney to complete banking transactions, it is apparent he was not acting in the best interest of his mother.

Munger was arraigned and released. He is due back in court on February 2.

Rochester woman ticketed following car accident in Victor

A Rochester woman was ticketed following a car accident in Victor.

33-year-old Elizabeth T. Zorrilla was involved in a car accident on County Road 41 in Victor just after 7:00pm on Wednesday. She was not injured.

When Ontario County Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene, they determined that Zorilla was driving with a suspended license. Sheriff's deputies also give her a ticket for unreasonable speed and aggravated unlicensed operation.

She is due back in Victor Town Court at a later date.

 

Pittsford man arrested for stealing from store at Eastview Mall

A young man from Pittsford has been arrested for stealing from a store at Eastview Mall where he works.

20-year-old Patrick Michael DeTraglia is charged with petit larceny.

Ontario County Sheriff's deputies say DeTraglia stole a coat and two shirts from Hollister worth $350.00. Sheriff's deputies say DeTraglia say he was employed at the store.

DeTraglia was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.

Five Buffalo residents arrested for having stolen property from Eastview Mall

Five Buffalo residents are facing charges in Ontario County after sheriff's deputies found them with stolen property from stores at Eastview Mall.

19-year-old Unique Reynolds, 24-year-old Oaja Comer, 31-year-old Eloise Thomas, 21-year-old Marquisha Reynolds and 35-year-old Olympia Johnson, all of Buffalo, are charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Ontario County Sheriff's deputies say the five had more than $1,530 worth of stolen merchandise from various stores in the mall.  

All five were arriagned in Victor Town Court and sent to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail. 

Two juvenile females were also involved. Their names are not be released because of their age. Their case has been handed over to the Ontario County Sheriff's Juvenile Aid section.
